The women of the Gamma Delta Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta at the University of Nebraska at Omaha are hosting their annual AmaXIng Challenge: Step It Up 5K and 10K Run/Walk. All proceeds will go towards Autism Speaks. The race will be held on Saturday, March 30th at Lake Zorinsky on South 156th Street Park Shelter #5. The event aims to raise vital funding for Autism Speaks to carry out its mission and to increase awareness about autism and the tireless efforts of Autism Speaks.
To start the day off, we will host our annual Easter egg hunt for children of all ages at 9 AM. This event is FREE and we want to invite families from across the metro area to join us. We will have face painting, raffle prizes, baked goods for sale, a blow-up obstacle course, and a special appearance from the Easter Bunny. At 8:30 AM, registration for both the 5K and 10K races will begin and the run will start promptly at 10 AM. Adult runners will be $25, students will be $15, and children (12 and under) will be $10.
We are so excited to be hosting an event that supports research and families with children that have autism. We look forward to seeing you!
